Carlos Hagerman
Director y producer

Hagerman was part of the team of directors of Alejandro González Iñárritu’s production company before opening his own company where he has produced and directed award-winning documentaries like Those Who Remain (IDA Humanitas Award2009), Back to Life, and No Place Like Home. He also co-produced Plaza de la Soledad (Sundance 2013) and Rush Hour (SXSW 2018). He is a founding partner of Brinca Animation Studio.

Jorge Villalobos 
Director y producer

Writer, director, and producer of animated and live action projects. He directed several children's series for Canal Once, Mexico’s Public TV channel. His animated and fiction short films have won over 20 international awards. Since co-founding Brinca Animation Studio in 2012, Jorge and Carlos Hagerman have worked as a team, co-producing and co-directing animation projects for children as well as communication tools for human rights organizations like UNICEF and the Mexican Human Rights Commission.

Guillermo Rendón 
Producer

Born in México City and studied communication at Universidad Iberoamericana. His credits include director of 4 Ways to Cover a Hole (Official Selection at Cannes International Film Festival, 1996) and producer of Cocktail Molotov (Official Selection at Annecy Festival International du film d´animation, 2000.)

 

Carolina Coppel 
Executive producer

Founder of the workshop program for new documentary filmmakers Ambulante Beyond, where she has trained more than 150 young people, mostly from marginalized communities, who have produced more than 30 short films and three feature documentaries that have been selected at festivals around the world. She produced La Vocera (2021), Luciana Kaplan's documentary about the reconstruction movement of an indigenous voice at the political level.

Andrew Houchens
Executive producer

The award-winning films produced by Houchens have premiered at festivals such as IDFA, EnergaCamerimage, SXSW, Tribeca, and Hot Docs, and have been distributed by Criterion Collection, Netflix, Topic, and PBS. He has been a consultant for the Berlinale since 2016. He previously oversaw Tribeca’s Co-Production Market and worked with the Gotham Institute in New York for several years. Andrew is a 2019 Sundance Institute Creative Producing Fellow and member of the Documentary Producers’ Alliance. 

Susan MacLaury
Executive producer

Co-founder and Executive Director of Shine Global. Her film credits include: Through Our Eyes: Homefront, Virtually Free, the Academy Award®-winning film Inocente, the Academy Award®-nominated War/Dance, The Harvest (La Cosecha), 1 Way Up in 3D, The Eagle Huntress, Liyana, The Wrong Light, and Tre Maison Dasan.

 

Albie Hecht
Executive producer

Co-founder of Shine Global who has produced narrative, animated, and documentary films, television series, and specials for film and TV for more than 20 years. He oversaw production at Nickelodeon Movies and developed hit series for Nick TV. He also has produced or executive produced Shine Global’s documentaries.

Mariana Marín Romero
Executive producer

Has collaborated at the Mexican Film Institute as General Coordinator for the Industry, Cinema and Audiovisual Market (MICA) and the EGGM Production Grant for Indigenous and Afro-descendant filmmakers in Mexico and Central America. Currently, she’s producing the impact campaign for Home Is Somewhere Else.
